Spiritual Emphasis
The theme scripture for the school this year is Hebrews 12:1-2.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
We Believe...
- At Heartland we believe the Bible to be the only infallible and inspired authoritative Word of God.
- At Heartland we believe that there is only one God. That this God is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.
- At Heartland we believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that He was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life, we believe in His miracles, in His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- At Heartland we believe that man is sinful by nature, being disobedient to God and His purposes, and that generation by the Holy Spirit is essential for his salvation.
- At Heartland we believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
- At Heartland we believe in the resurrection of both the saved (those who without reservation trust Jesus Christ and obey His commands) to eternal life, and those who are lost (those who do not trust Jesus Christ) to eternal damnation, which is separation from God and all things good and pure.
- At Heartland we believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, there being neither bond nor free, Gentile nor Jew, male nor female, in Jesus Christ.
- At Heartland we believe in the creation of man by the direct and personal action of God, who created humankind in His image.
