Rotary Brings Dictionaries
Mr. Bera's third and fourth grade classes were the delighted recipients of dictionaries from members of the Bemidji Rotary Club. The students also received coupons for Dairy Queen! If you meet a Rotarian, say "thank you" for Heartland.
Bemidji Holiday Parade is Coming
Heartland will have a parade float in the annual Bemidji "We Light the Night" celebration on Friday, November 27th. Any students or parents willing to walk with the float are welcome to join in the fun and witness of having a float that shows the "Good News" of Jesus Christ. Participants should find the float and line up in the parking lot of the Bemidji Government Center by 5:30 PM. Dress warmly and bring footwear made for walking in the street! Contributions of hard, wrapped candy may be brought to the school office. We also need Christmas lights and a quiet generator.
Heartland Children Awarded by Temperance Union
First through third grade students District-wide were invited to color a poster on the theme "Say No to Drugs," in a contest sponsored by the Women's Christian Temperance Union. A "guest first grader," Josiah Charon won 1st place in both his grade and the whole Bemidji District, making his artistic work eligible to go on to state competition. Among our second graders, Kia Cerven took 4th, Grace Adams took 3rd, Cailin Cermak took 2nd, and River Ryan took 1st place for the school.

Puppet Ministry a Wonderful Way to Share the Gospel
The new Heartland Christian Academy puppet ministry is reaching out to young and old with the Gospel. Mrs. Plotts and her puppet team more than ten students are preparing to take their stuffed friends and stage to Ponema as an outreach. This expanding ministry started in previous years, but has expanded under Mrs. Plott's direction, with a new stage contributed by the Schussman family. Most of the puppets have come from the Covenant Church in Bemidji, but we have our very first HCA-owned puppet won on ebay!
