We are pleased to welcome back Mr. Dan Bera to Heartland Christian Academy. Dan teaches 3rd and 4th grade. Now in his eleventh year, Mr. Bera's indefatigable enthusiasm for learning radiates to students and staff alike. His rich educational and work experience is an asset to Heartland. In addition to teaching at Heartland, he is a part-time Naturalist at Lake Bemidji State Park, Chief Maintenance Operator at Neilson Spearhead Center for Ecological Research and Education, operated by the Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society, and does special programs in Natural and Cultural History.

Mr. Bera has also served as an adjunct professor in BSU's Professional Education department. He brings all these assets to the classroom, making history come alive and science a "hands-on" venture. Mr. Bera received his Bachelor's Degree (BSU, '86) in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Biology/Environmental Education. Dan and his wife, Judy, have been married 24 years, raised three children, and live on a small hobby farm where he puts primitive living skills into practice.
