Teachers, board members, moms, dads, students and the Principal (and Mrs. Principal!)worked hard together to feed approximately 250 people in two hours at the Applebee's restaurant in Bemidji. We met our fundraising budget for this event (yeah!!!). Under the coordination of Carla Mandrell at the door and Alyce Daline in the kitchen, the Heartland team worked like a well-oiled machine to greet, seat, feed and clean-up after enthusiastic guests who were pleased to help support our school. The students were awesome in assisting, and some of the moms and dads looked like they were "old hands" at serving in restaurants. The tips in the blessing jar put us over the top in our goal to raise at least $1000.00 for the school. Many thanks to all those who sold tickets, invited friends and family and gave assistance at Applebee's. Everybody played an important role, even door-keeper, board member Pastor Dave Myers who gave the southern blessing of "Thanks, y'all."
